If you’re looking for a sign to keep living – this is it.

When I say I don’t want you to end your life, it’s not for me.

Yes I’d miss you dearly and I’d think about the things I’d want to tell you only to not be able to do so… I’d get upset and then I’d carry on.

I don’t want you to end your life because I KNOW what you can achieve.

I can see it.

Don’t ask me how, because even I can’t explain it… I just know you were made for great things regardless of how large or small that great thing is.

Please, don’t give up on yourself.

  • You’re not worthless.
  • You’re not useless.
  • You’re not broken.
  • You are amazing and loving and caring.
  • You are loved.
  • You are enough; you are so enough.

And you are 100% not alone.

I know that maybe life seems shit right now, maybe things aren’t working out in some way. Personal, professional, private, public… Whatever. We’re never given more than we can handle; I never used to believe that and called it bullshit until I managed to climb my way out of the hole I had found myself in.

It was hard and I came out beaten and bloody with battle scars. I came out stronger and knew myself better.

I got out though and I know there will be a next time; not an “if” but a “when”.

I’m not gonna bullshit you with all this tumblr self-care hot-water-bottle-and-duvet-day-with-a-book type stuff.

You gotta work at it. You gotta make yourself work and that includes being an adult and taking responsibility for anything you yourself have done to contribute to your current position.

I’m in no way saying your depression is your own fault – because that is bullshit! Don’t let anyone tell you you’re to blame.

I’m saying we (all) gotta take responsibility for our actions and admit when we make stupid ones that contribute to our current situation. Then we work to rectify it.

Going with being an adult is doing the “little” things we all let slip when going through depression.

  • Have that shower!
  • Eat good stuff not junk food because it really does make a difference.
  • If all else fails… Just make sure you eat.
  • Drink water. Idgaf how cliché that is; it actually works and keeps your kidneys happy.
  • If all else fails; drink tea or de-caf coffee.
  • No high caffeine drinks. They’ll make you feel worse.
  • Don’t turn to alcohol. This. Is. Important. It will solve nothing.
  • Take your prescribed meds. Set phone alarms to help remind you.
  • Go to appointments.
  • Talk about your mental health.
  • Keep a record. This is a fab help.
