When Music is about Money

This is a topic I don’t talk about lightly; especially when it involves a band that I have held in high esteem, up on a pedestal above everyone else and have defended to the hilt every single time needed.

I’ll still defend them against the b.s. I’ll still buy the music. But this will possibly be the last time I see them live unless many things change…. The main one being monetary.

My Top 5… [[Part 4]]

…Fave Pop Songs!

Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3 // Part 4 // Part 5

Everyone has those guilty pleasures; whether you bop to Westlife, Backstreet Boys or Take That.  We have those songs that still make us smile, we still know the routines to and we still know all the lyrics.  They may remind us of a fun summer, a snowy winter or a great friendship…. but we all have them.  I’d love to know your guilty pleasures in the comments section.

As always – none of these are in any specific order.

…. Favourite Rock Songs

Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3 // Part 4 // Part 5

I’ve been brought up with quite eclectic tastes in music; however it’s always been the heavier side of things that I gravitate towards.  At the age of five I sang along word for word to Sabbath Bloody Sabbath – much to the amusement of my mother and disgrace of my grandmother.

So…. on wards!

My Top 5 [[Part 2]]

….. Songs for your sex playlist.

Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3 // Part 4 // Part 5

Part 2 of my gods-know how many Top 5’s – you can read my intro and part one here; so I don’t think I need to re-type that.

One of the many playlists I’ve found people have is a sexy times playlist and of course, I am no different.  While some of the tracks have changed over time and new ones are added in, I do have five staples that will be somewhere in there.

Shall we?

My Top 5…. [[Part 1]]

…..Songs that hold meaning to me.

Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3 // Part 4 // Part 5

In times of stress, depression, anxiety, elation, indifference, angst…. All the time… We turn to music for different reasons.  We all have “those songs” that are playlisted for specific emotions and/or experiences.  It’s one of the great things about music…. It speaks for us when we can’t find the words.  It brings us together; bonds us and can make us family.

So I would like to share with you some of my Top Fives…. Of various different kinds.  This one is all about the five songs (in no specific order) that hold a lot of meaning to me.

I’d really love it if you would give them a listen if you haven’t already and share your own favourites in the comments section.

Well this is the second time i’ve seen Pat and i think they got better! is that even possible?

A little history for you before my review.

Pat McManus was originally in Mama’s Boys with John McManus (1978 – 1993), Tommy McManus (1978-1993) (B: 1966. D: 1994), Rick Chase, Keith Murrell, Mike Wilson (1990-1992), Alan Williams  (1989 – 1993) and Jimmy DeGrasso (1985-1986). The band was an 80’s hard rock/heavy metal band from County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland.  The band was originally the three McManus brothers and then grew to a four piece adding Rick (Chase) on vocals in 1985 who was then replaced by Keith Murrell in 1987  due to Rick’s ill health.  Keith was replaced by Mike in 1989.

Pat now has his own band with Marty McDermot (Bass) and Paul Faloon (Drums) called The Pat McManus Band.

You can read more about Mama’s Boys here.
